DAI is a decentralised stablecoin issued by MakerDAO (now Sky). It is over-collateralised by a diversified basket of crypto assets locked in smart contracts, with all positions verifiable on-chain. DAI can be upgraded 1:1 to USDS via the Sky protocol.
